Announcement for 2007 We at present in the very early stages of planning a sponsored distance event for next year. This will be along the lines of   trundle from Swindon-Cardiff via Chippenham, Bath, Bristol and   Newport. We would greatly like any offers from firms or company's along this route who would like to help with this proposed event in anyway they can or wish to please contact us. We are hoping to have local radio and Tv interest and will also be stopping off in local shopping centers on route. The whole event is for charity so if you wish to offer support we would gladly welcome offers. Thankyou. Quarterly Report January, February, March 2006 March 2006 - We attended the Marie Curie's Ladies Driving Challenge at Merryfield, A good day was enjoyed by all the ladies that ventured to have a go at operating our Daleks, we were glad to hear that the day helped raise over £20,000 for the charity.     - A good weekend was had by all with Jeff attending on behalf of us all at Tellynation. He kept everyone entertained at the event and some pics have been posted in the photo section. April, May June 2006 April   2006 -   A quiet month for us preparing for the summer onslaught and getting the vehicle ready along with the Daleks. May 2006 - What a madcap dayplenty of kids old (parents)   and young interested in the Daleks, also two newspapers came down for a photo shot of us opening the event. We were very well looked after a big thankyou to the organizers of the event. June   2006 -   We've been busy organizing the basics ready for next years big project of our sponsored 'Trundle' from Swindon to Cardiff via Chippenham, Bath, Bristol and   Newport. A lot of permission is needed from local councils and Police for the road route, we are even getting some National interest of the event from papers and radio stations so this could be a big one as its never been done before 'Daleks' on a route march. Busy weekend this one 24/25 june, We appeared at Chilton Foliat school as guest it was great to see the faces as the children didn't even know we were arriving and one lucky lad i think it was due to some arm twisting won a go in 'Ruby' as part of a auction the school ran and he did enjoy chasing his friends around the playground. sundae was a good day at Filton we raised some money from our stand and with the Marie Curie Charity box's as soon as the weekend totals are in i'll post them up. July, August, September 2006 July 2006   - We were invited to 10th Planets 'BadWlof convention over the weekend 8/9th along with some friends from the guild. We would like to thank 10th for looking after us and all those involved including ex-cast members from Dr Who classic and new series. Aug 06 - Well the LDC season is off to a good start a nice sunny day was had at RAF Colerne and despite a few technical problems i think they Ladies enjoyed making husbands jealous by driving or Daleks as well as other vehicles such as trucks and police cars to mention a few. A great start to for them by raising £18,000. Sept   06 - We   had a busy weekend down at Butlins, Minehead on Sat 2nd raising money for the local Air Ambulance and RNLI a big thankyou to the staff for looking after us on the day as far as we know over £2000 was raised. Then it was a trip up the motorway to Worcester for Marie Curies LDC where   we helped raise some more money (for those ladies we have set up a page of yourselves in the Daleks, sorry if we didn't catch you on camera). October, November, December 2006 Oct   06 - Been a bit busy this month, at the beginning the Bristol Evening Post ran a article on us to try and help raise some sponsorship which we are desperately in need of. Then 'Bob' was taken along to a 'Dalek Tea Party' in aid of a children's charity, this month's Ladies Driving challenge has been postponed until March (dates to follow below) and then last weekend 28th 'Bob' and 'Nigel' went along to help Caring for Cancer at their Halloween Party in the Bar Riva, Chippenham we had a great day going around the shopping area next door interacting with people and even Jeff joined in on the sponsored Kareoke in 'Nigel' Nov     06 - A great start to the month with a evening out at Hungerford RoundTable's Charity bonfire night of fireworks based around a Dr Who theme. With 'Bob' and 'Nigel' doing their best to entertain the crowd of a few hundred people. The guys from the round table looked after us very nicely a big thankyou to them for asking us along i'm just waiting on the figures of how much we collected in our MCCC tins from   Claire in her   office. A big well done as well to Charlie who voulentered to help out by manning 'Bob' he took to it as a natural even though he talked that much he ran the voice box battery flat. What a fantastic day we had at The Brunel center in Swindon raising £240 for Children in Need, the crowds were good and we were looked after very nicely from Sharons team of personnel a big thankyou to them. Dec 06 - 'Bob' and 'Ruby' went along to turn on some christmas lights for charity (just waiting to hear how much was raised). Apart from that its been a quiet winter season but thing are looking great for events this sumer season. Things are well in hand for our major road Challenge in July/Augist with permission from local authoritys but we are desperatly seeking any sponsorship from any companies that wish to back us for the event. We also have interest from National and local media on the forthcoming event.
